title: A Parent's love
date: Wednesday, February 20, 2013
time : 1:57 PM

Mom and dad came last night again; they came to make sure I'm doing good a few days in a week as I need to cook all my meal at home so I don't have time to go over their place.

Mom have been very supportive in me into organic and being vegetarian for most meals. Erm... maybe she understands me too well, knowing that I know what I'm doing, and so that no matter what others said I will still be in my stand. So she rather being supportive, not against my thought - my doings.

Where else dad feesl that I should still take a bit of meat though he shares the same thought that having lot of vegetable are really good for health.

I understand his worries too, knowing that cause he did not ever read up the nutrient of each food so he don't know that the nutrient in meat I can easily get it from other better source in a plant that is even better for body system.

And every time they see me, they will ask me to employ maid. I'm way doing too much, worst than a stay-at-home-mom!

They alway see me in the house doing this and that, not even have time to sit down chit chat with them, comparing to their friends' daughter who is a stay-at-home-mom doing every single thing. They said I overloaded, too hard on myself.

They have been asking me to employ a maid to help out, in the past... I kept saying no, cause I hate having maid, the stress, having to supervise them. Then now that I in the need to rush home to cook every meals at home, they want to support me and asking me to quit my job, so I won't get too tired. I know they really love me and feel heartaching. But I can't don't work la and even shame to have parent to support me.

In the past, when I start working, wanna give them allowance but everytime they refused to take a single not to say when I married, they didn't even want to take any single $$$ from me, they said we got house loan to pay. Then after having kid, they even fight to pay our meals or things when we are out together.

And now they know my expenses will shot up high again agreeing to employ maid and the need to buy those organic foods, my dad even pushed bucks to me last night, we push here push there that he got so frustrated, scolded me he is tired pushing and I must take, is for me to engage the maid since is them kept forcing me to engage maid! Saying other days will pass me again! Me is like huh...😪😪, saying will accept this and keep in bank first then but don't pass me any anymore. They really love me and even my Hus that they don't want him to be too financial burden cause they knows me his wife really can spend a lot and for the best of  my kids.

Mom said next time their $$$ will also goes to us brothers sisters, so just take la if unused just keep it in bank! Dad always mentioned wanna give me his stock shares. Me is like huh, I don't know how to play stock sia. So for?! Lol~

He is already retired so is like enjoying life now! Whereas, Mom chooses to continue work, she is super workaholic, she never work she will feel sick. Weird woman haha~

In law also came the few days ago when my parent also around.
Haha, look like parents meeting.
Then Dad offered to drive them back to Tiong Bahru then back to Jurong again, mom and 2 kids take the ride too to jalan jalan haha
Well that is the loves of a parent, always want the best for their children.
The care is always there, no matter what.
And I love them too, just can't live without them.

A parents love is whole, no matter how many times divided

Yesterday morning, having avocado.
Haha, the way I eat it in the office.

Brought bestie Sz to a Onaka restaurant, which served Organic foods

My Organic Pineapple Brown Rice, I pretty love it. Suit me!

Sz dishes, but she claimed that too salty.
Look good though

My organic vegen sandwiches. I love it too

Last night, the dinner I cooked, here the kids' portion.
Veggie (vitamins and minerals), cashew nut (protein), flax seed powder (healthy fats) , cooked with olive oil (healthy fats) served with Quinoa (complex carbohydrates and non-gluten grains), all necessary nutrient is in there and are high calories that we needed.

I am still learning more about the nutrition facts of foods and may slowly introduce more healthy food to them.

Thanks god that they are not a fussy eater when come to meals.
Maybe yes at the initial but they don't dare to say NO to me.
Ever since they born, whatever thing I serve them. They have to eat, even they don't like.... I will want them to slowly finish up. Even if they don't like it and eat until like wanna vomit, they still got to slowly finish it. Well after sometime they learn to eat the food they dislike. See~ they now like it!
They shouldn't be picky on food!

No snacking always for my kids la, even more particular now.
So unhealthy....... I thought parent want the best for kids?
Instead I giving my kids healthy snack like natural pumpkin, sunflower seeds, or brown rice cracker etc
I hate seeing kids one hand ice-cream, one hand chocolate bar.
Look cute?!?! what for!!

Once in a blue mood ok la I won't say no, don't wanna be that EXTREMELY STRICT mommy too.
Sound too kelian
But at least I should keep it at minimum. Once a month if they really long waited for? lenient enough?! :D
I know Amabel is in primary school, can easily eat it in school without telling me.
So I will be particularly strict on her diet at home definitely.

Hi Eling,

By the time you reached home to prepare meals for the kids, will it be too late for them? Usually you serve the dinner at what time?

Can share the recipes and how to prepare the soup while i have to work during the day.

Thanks.

Hi Kairis,

Didn't manage to catch up with you before you left. Hope you are doing well in USA now :D

Aiyo I think you are much more better cook than me. Mine is all simple dishes.

Actually healthy meals is very easy for you since you can cook pretty well. Just remember introduce more veggies for every meals and minimize or totally omitted the following and substitute with better one:

- Refined carbohydrates (white flour, white rice)
- White sugar
- Red meat and fatty meat (if can avoid this for dinner, as the protein in meat take too long to digest, instead cook nut or seed dishes or fish for the protein needed)
- Processed and fabricated foods

You may want to check it out here
http://mypreciousangel.blogspot.sg/2013/02/update-my-healthy-diet.html on what you can substitute with, for more you can search online too :)

Will post more on the recipe if I managed to find more time
Hope this help! ;)

Hi Anonymous 1,

By the time I reached home is about 7pm already, so done with cooking is about 7.30pm and is really depends on what I cook. That's why I need maid to help, cause it really not good in long term to always eat that late.

For soup now I usually prepare organic chicken stock, vegetable stock or fish stock and store it in the fridge for next day use to make soup, vegetable pasta or noodle soup.

For very fast fish soup, I do try this which take about 20mins one; white fish in chunk with broccoli, carrot and apple to boil and Spring onions(scallion)for garnishing.

Else this if you prepare the stock before hand

homemade fish stock
2 tsp dried wakame (Japanese seaweed)
fish fillet (I used threadfin)
silken tofu – cut into small cubes
2 tomatoes – cut into wedges
Ginger slice (peeled, cut 3-4 thin slices and finely shredded)
Spring onions (scallion) or coriander leaves for garnishing

Seasoning:
Salt (I usually omitted this else just add abit) and pepper to taste

Marinade (for fish fillets)- most time I even omitted marinade the fish:
1½ tsp light soy sauce
¼ tsp sesame oil
A few shredded gingers
Spring onions (optional)

1) Wash and pat dry fish fillet. Prepare a steaming plate, place fish fillet with spring onions underlying it. Marinate with light soy sauce and sesame oil. Top with some shredded gingers. Steam for 8-10 minutes until the fish is cooked through (flaked easily). Set aside to cool. Flake fish finely or into small chunks.
2)Bring stock to a boil. Add in tofu, ginger and tomatoes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
3)Bring stock to a boil again and turn off the heat.
4)Add in fish from step(1) and dried wakame. Season with salt and pepper.
5)Garnish with chopped spring onions or coriander leaves and serve.

Hope this help. You may find a better recipe online too. Cause for the food I prepare for my kids, usually i go for natural taste from the food itself, so I don't do marinade for most. :)

Hi Anonymous ,
Yes am getting maid, gonna do paperwork tonight for the transfer. For my past 3 maid are all from Crislo Agency http://www.crislo.sg/contact.html in Chinatown People's Park Complex. I always go there cos I preferred indo maid and they have more maids for me to choose compare to other agencies. And they having training centre in indo so their maid are all trained there at sg standard. But you know la is still the basic one so don't expected too much also. But I do feel there maid standards are pretty good. For the past 3 maids I engaged are fresh and they learned very fast. :)

Well, my current one that I gonna engage is not from Crislo cause is a transfer maid; is my mom's boss current maid, she said is very good and willing to transfer to me. :)

title: Unconditional love
date: Wednesday, January 09, 2013
time : 12:12 PM

Dad bought me a bottle of D.O.M again ♥, he must be worrying sick about me being still so skinny and always look so tired especially these few months; working so hard on housechore, rushing, cooking, teaching and handling difficult children of mine, wanna me 补一补。And as usual brought up again... asking me to hire maid again, saying if it is a financial burden, he will pay for me. Unable to describe how much they doted and loving their children. Unconditional love!! 😘😘.

Well, as usual my reply to them is the stress and worries more than anything else. I don't want double attack; stress from both work and maid. But I do tell them I'm considering it since it will be hard on Amabel to concentrate in afternoon class if she is to wake up early to before/after school care. I can't be that selfish now. Already shortlisted 2 maids and waiting for them to be back to training centre so I can get to interview them. Hopefully I can get a less problem one like my last previous maid.

How I wish I can be a housewife, no worries and stress from maid, no stress from work. Like the past 1 weeks am on leave, helping Amabel to adapt to primary school life, life is extremely good, prepare breakfast for my girl, housechore then cook lunch and prepare to send my girl to school by bus then back doing housechore and nap with my younger girl, wake up continue to do housechore then fetch my girl from school, back cooking, handling my girls and housework again, at least I still can get a few hours nap and go do some marketing or shopping if I want to. The first 3 days I do stay in Amabel's school for the talks arranged by the school then watching Amabel during her recess (will blog about it soon). So now am back to square, weekend and off day are all that I'm waiting for, so much easier than having to work. Work stress with different difficult peoples to deal with and back home still have to finish and handle everything in just a few hours and having to wake up damn early. But I think have to wait next life. Hopefully is not a women again.

title: BMW members set free day "煮妇的假期"
date: Thursday, August 19, 2010
time : 8:25 AM

I quoted this "A successful mother is one who is great at managing her family and career well but at the same time is able to enjoy life with her bunch of good friends."

So our BMW club, had an initial plan of get away to Batam on 14 August but was later postponed to later month due the lunar 7th month. Hence, we suggested to spend our day without the kids and hus, get away from stress, work, worries, everythings and enjoy this set free day (with kids under my in-law and hus's care for a day), enjoy shopping, eating, relaxing and go wild clubbing; a night we can imbibe with friends, feeling happy, fun and wonderful. This is the most memorable day; very happening with lot of laughter, phototaking, bruises (lol).

I met the BMW club members (hehe) directly in Takashimaya at 11.45am. Leann had reserved a table for 5 pax the day before at Taka's Coca for a steamboat buffet. Price was reasonable but how can steamboat don't have crabstick right! Hai~ But still we enjoyed our lunch, nothing can beat the great kaki gfs right!
My lovely and fun to be with buddies. We called ourselve "Beautiful Married Women" :D

 Our new member xh. hehe~

After our almost 2 hours lunch, we shopped in Chanel, Cartier and green pastel, we ladies got lot of nice loots there.

Then we headed to Wisma's Haagen Dazs for ice-creams. yummy!
Quite sad after confirmed that Haagen Dazs had discontinued my favourite "Chocolate Chocolate Chips"
wanna have some? yummy!

Camwhoring in ION's toilet before we went to Sephora for cosmestic and Muji for shoes

Time really passes damn fast, shopped Scott Isetan's BYSI too before we headed down to Far East Plaza and it's almost 5.30pm already. Really shop till we drop there, got many loots there and we 100% transformed Huihui into even more hot mommy, with eyeshadow and blushes and nicer clothes. Von and XH got their fake lashes in one of the shop and we ladies were hanging in the shop, helping them put on the fake lashes. Haha really very happening sia!

At about 8pm plus, we took taxis to Clark Quay. We sail along with the crowd, going through pub after pub before we decided on

Lunar Asian Fusion Bar @ Clarke Quay

The Coyote Dolls, an iconic resident performance in Lunar, are professionally trained dancers that hail from China, Taiwan and Thailand. Each dancer comes with extensive experience in various dance styles. Check out their new set of Coyote Dolls performers this season!

Can't resisted this cause I don't have such a nice butt!

XH, see what is beside you again... lol~ it' Carlsberg logo lah. haa

不醉不归。。。

Paying for the Chivas

Can see how thrilled we were right! Happily yakking...

来啦。。。 bo lim nei nei sueh! rofl~

Super high sia...

We go clubbing not only to enjoy ourselves, to let our hair down but also to go out to see who is out, to see what is worn, to see what is in trend now, hear what is being played, to be seen, to network... 这样活着,不是肯有益意吗。

Five-Ten...

Even drink Chivas also sooo pretty

来啦。。。 bo lim bo nei nei! rofl~

I'm still awake!!

a bit high liao

all seem to be so high, while I still telling Huihui that I'm not high yet. Who know I'm even worst than them in the last 1 hour. I totally gone case after that last 1 hour of taking a big swig and gulping down glass and glasses of chivas treated by the guys from the next table where the rest kept trying to stop me from drinking in such a way. They said that I'm too strong to stop me, my hands are like Octopus, just snatched whatever drink I saw and gulping down the very thick chivas in 3 second per glass, as claimed by my gf. As for Leann machiam like jelly fish. Haha funny nicks given by the ladies to us. Leann and me are the most drunk one, amongst all. Making Huihui so worried that if we stay longer, and the ladies were drunk also, then she must else, buy another bottle of Chivas and drunk with us even though she's allergy to alcohol. If not how am she going to send 5 of us back. haha and I like the way Sz described Huihui's action in her blog; "Hui took all our bags in her hands and yelled at us (like mother hen) to leave the pub pronto and like all impish little chickens, we turned deaf ears". I can't recalled this at all, as I'm extremely high already or maybe busy snatching the drinks.
The hangover plus vomiting are the most miserable one, totally intoxicated by alcohol and need my besties, 扛我回家 whereas XH, Huihui and Leann in another cab. Due to this, my gfs are all with bruises on their body the next day. Yah there are too many classic moments, like dance along with XX's Indian move, me crying saying "I'm not a good mom, loving my girls so much cause they are too adorable and want to have another girl named Ayumi" lol~  too happening and funny that we decided to meet the next day to talk about it, we really laughed it out together when we hear the other side of the story and the classic moments which we can't recall when me and Leann were in the wonderland. And from this, I saw the team effort! I promise I will stop drinking for the next few months, and I won't let hangover happen again. Ladies... please please please try your best to stop me next time! 哈哈!

Something I learnt from this experience:

How To Get Rid Of A Hangover

Bbody is dehydrated due to the alcohol you take in the night before, you need to get rid of your hangover immediately.

What you usually do?

· Take another alcoholic drink in the morning. This is because you believe this to be the solution, but no, it is not. Taking another drink the morning after is a shortcut to alcoholism. haha this is the uncle uncle taught MQ, luckily she didn't do it.

· Take an aspirin to reduce the headache. This is also not good because you subject your kidney to serious damage because alcohol and aspirin do not blend well.

· Stay in bed. This may not be good as well; it is better if you take a walk to help your system metabolize the alcohol. Exercise is actually best. but I can't even walk the next day lor, stand up I feel giddy liao.

Tips to get rid of hangover

· Drink plenty of water; this will bring back your system to a hydrated state.

· Drink a cup of coffee. The caffeine in coffee will help reduce your swollen blood vessels. Inflammation of the blood vessels is the cause of hangover.

· Take a bowl of hot chicken soup. The salt and potassium in the chicken soup will help you overcome queasiness.

· You may also take fruit juice to help in metabolizing the alcohol in your blood. XH smsed me to drink some orange juice and immediately I sent my maid to buy a cup of it. Drink half a cup of it really feel so much better

· Eat crackers or muffin. If you take mild food with honey, it will be more helpful. This is because honey will help you breakdown the alcohol and speed its metabolism.

Again, I may need to emphasize here that you need to drink plenty of water. You will need to rehydrate your body and so water is your best bet.

Your hangover will be gone on or before 24 hours, if you however feel that your hangover is still there after this period, you may need to see your health professional for advice.

Finally, apples, bananas and Vitamin B-complex will help you restore the energy you lost the night you are imbibing. Taking them will help get rid of your hangover easily. Never take pain relievers; it may lead to serious health problems in the future.

Don't drink too much, if you need to... please don't bring expensive stuff, don't wear skirt, don't wear high heel, and don't drive. hehe!

Next set free day will be our Batam trip in the next few months. *wink*

Hi Anonymous,
Huihui got that denim vest on last Sat at Far East Plaza Level 3, when you up from the escalator, turn to your left, then turn left again, then turn right and long the row of shops on your right, i think 3rd shop. Cause I cant remember the shop unit or name. It's a very small shop. :)
