date: Friday, June 27, 2008 time : 10:55 PM Temper Tantrum Amabel just fall asleep. After her big cry, I coax her to brush her teeth and get her to bed. I feel so bad for scolding her fiercely once again. I hug and pat her to sleep. Keep talking to her, comfort her and making her feel better. Cause I know some tantrums are often traumatizing to a child. And I promised her to bring her out and to play see-saw tomorrow. In a short while, she is in her dreamland. Hope I not frighten her just now. Feel so remorseful now. Kept asking myself why I react in such way. Feel like crying once again. Aww…. She has been throwing temper. It make me couldn't breath, blood vessel hit to the max. She is testing my patience and yes I was defeated. I become very frustrated and scold her again and again when she again and again stepping my nerve. She abit abit also cannot, very stubborn, out of sudden will throw temper if thing doesn't goes her way. She will start kicking, stomping, pounding, screaming and yelling, crying and throwing the body on the floor. Completely unwilling to listen to or comply with any efforts to pacify the situation. I will place her in a corner, telling her to remain in there until she is in a better mood, but she just keep crying non stop. Often, even when the reason for the temper tantrum is settled (we finally gives in, though most of the time I don’t, just trying to distract and calm her), still she may not even reach a level of calm or satisfaction. After awhile, another thing that doesn’t go her way, she will throw temper once again. Argh..... I have attended course on handling temper tantrum. In order for the transition to occur smoothly, it is important for the parent to maintain a level head and not get angry with their child. Cause anger only adds fuel to the fire of a temper tantrum. Remaining calm is a must when dealing with a tantrum. But…. I just couldn’t control. Aww….really hate myself Labels: Amabel's behaviour, Amabel's character, Problems |
