title: Home Visit the Needy families
date: Thursday, November 08, 2012 time : 10:59 AM The moment hus stepped into the house at 10ish last night, he cannot wait to share his home visit to the low income families which really made him heart-wrenching. They came to this 1-room flat unit and seen through the window, a little girl whose age about the same as Amabel (~5 or 6 years old) sitting in the living room watching TV with the house lights all off. She has two sibling who is much younger than her (about 2 years old to Aisleyne's age of 4) were sleeping. When they asked the little girl through the window "Where is your parent?". She diffidently replied "Went to work!". It seems so normal for the little girl, seems like she is so use to it already. Apparently, the kids have been left at home ‘on many occasions’ when the mother went to work. We feel so pity for the children. After all, they are still such a young toddler to take care of themselves and at a stage where the need the mother cuddle and care the most! At that moment of the thought.... pressure built in my chest and my heart felt as though it would burst with emotion. Eyes turn red... I can't imagine if I were there, I will burst out crying! If you are a parent, you would understand how I feel hearing this. I really don't know what to comment about a mother who left the children unsupervised because of the need to work to support the family. I do feel the mother is cruel and irresponsible but I know it would be a struggle for the mother to left the children at home alone. They are in poverty that could be no one to turn to for help, they are poor that they couldn't employ a nanny or maid for help but if they don't work, how am they going to survive?! Usually these parents are likely to have limited education and so lack the knowledge of who they can really help them and the necessary to promote health and positive developmental outcomes in their children. These children living in poverty are precariously housed, suffer from impaired health, and delinquency than children from much wealthy families. Another is a family of just a father and a young girl who is also about the same age as Amabel. The wife left him, leaving their only daughter with him. The father was suffering with kidney failure and his legs was already amputated and so is on wheelchair. How am the father going to support her younger daughter with his illness disability and medical expenses. The father may not even able to take care of himself, how am he going to take care of his young daughter. They suggested to send the little girl to orphanage for their good. Though is better for both but I know it is a torture for them to be separated. So my girls, you should feel blessed that you are not the one going through this. I, myself don't really like to complain much about anything, cause I KNOW I'm so much blessed than a lot of needy out there. In a way that will feel if I were to complain so much on the endless housework, the nasty office work, nasty people I met, the need to take care my children with no help from maid or family members. What about this people living in poverty around the world, struggling with life and with no help and financial ability at all? We are lot more better than them! So please count your blessings!
