title: Toddler seriously addicted to Iphone!
date: Friday, August 27, 2010 time : 12:48 AM I first introduced the Iphone to my Big A was when I downloaded the educational games which somehow I find it quite good as in training a little of her brain, make her think and a little on her finger gesture. But after a while, she became a little obsessed with the phone and kept asking for it. I'm not worry about my elder girl as she is big enough to get my message and only fuss awhile when I refused to give it to her as she well knowing that I won't give in.As for her meimei, I having hard time to kick off her habit of playing with my Iphone. She was first explored to Iphone when I used it as an entertainment for them when we're out having meals, we'll on the youtube and start playing her favourite "Thomas and Friends", "Mickey Mouse Playhouse" etc cartoons to keep them sit still to finish their meals. Being curious, she always grabs my Iphone and starts follow us sliding on the screen. Surprisingly, she knew a little on how to use it, then I started to teach her a little bit more by giving her play the educational games. With her nimble fingers, she can even take photographs, knowing how to exit a page and play games. Oh dear, we shouldn't! Now she is hooked to it. Whenever she saw my Iphone, she'll wants to hold on to it. Even if we give her watch youtube, we put it on the table for her to watch, she don't want, she cried to hold it. *headache* she became very obsessed with the phone and kept asking for it when she saw my phone, my bag (knowing that it is in there), or even when she see me. I have already banned her from playing it, she have been crying for a week when i refused to give her my phone to play when she is asking for it. Every morning, she will ask for it and in the evening when I fetching her, she will ask for it again. Then board the car, immediately she ask for it again. Maybe too bore in the car, her mind is all on Iphone's game and cartoon. Argh..... making sooooo much noise in the car till we really cannot take it. But no I'm not giving in, so I have to bear with it. But hus think otherwise, he find it ok to let them play with the iphone. I insisted "No", in long term really not too good for a toddler, moreover lil A is super duper addicted which I find it really unhealthy, machiam like addicted to drug. I don't mind on and off she want to play, but now "Iphone seems to be alway in her mind". *headache*Just this morning, I leaving lil A to cry in the bus, and I managed to video it down"don't expect me to pacify you just because everyone are looking. This doesn't work on me. Try harder next time... I'm well trained by your sis last time, this is nothing to me now."and when I fetched both my girls this evening, the first word Aisleyne said to me when she saw me is "IPHONE"Faint!Another videoMy missy: "Thomas train...", " iPhone...", "mommy please give me iPhone"Seriously addicted to Iphone! Eling,
My boy started to love my iphone 2 years ago when it was launched here. We bought him a itouch instead without the radiation and all. he learnt alot from the educational games...and recently got him a ipad...but he doesnt seem to be so "addicted" to it after he was given one...so perhaps it is not a bad idea to let them play with it if we are selective with the apps.
Hi anonymous, yes radiation is one of the reason why I don't let my girls use it for too long, another reason is they don't know how to handle the phone with care. I will only let them see the education apps when I'm with them. And not more than 20mins. If not no I won't let them touch it but they alway finding way to get my phone without me knowing it. My phone damaged afew times due to this. So itouch, iPad is a no no for them too. I still find that story book, activity book, or physical kind of education stuff work better for a kids rather than getting an iPad specially for them as an educational material. Sorry! No offend just my personal view. :)
Hahaha so cute! "mummy I want iPhone".. Lol
Kaylene also always ask for my iPhone!!
but I always tell her no batt I need to charge.
for the 1st few times she'll cry n fuss!
now she's ok liao..
same like u, I ignore her cries.
so she got used to it
ahhaha
Gave Kayson my iphone3gs as I bought a new one so he can play....
but I limit his time n I told him he cant DL games unless he ask for permission.
so everything is good
he can watch cartoons n play games when we're out. I do my shopping, he can entertain himself
:)
It is norm for kids to be so addicted to IT gads, even my mum is hooked to iPad!
"Mummy, iPad?" is Ethan's greeting message when I'm back from work n he'll follow me into my room n wait next to the iPad.
Haha, how cute. But things went for a turn when his wish is not granted, he'll cry! >.<
I limit him to play for an hr a day only n at times when he followed my instructions. He's not as addicted as Aisleyne. Small A powerful neh!!! LOL!
