date: Friday, January 02, 2009 time : 3:14 AM Why some peoples like to said thing that doesn't make sense about my kids weight. Never think before talk. They like to comment on my kids weight. Both my daughter are of petite size (I never use the word thin or skinny cause to me they are just of the right size though I do like to see chubby babies). Always there is people saying that my #1 and #2 are very skinny Their funny comments; 1.) She may not like to drink breastmilk since Aisleyne takes so long to finish her milk and most of the time struggle to finish the milk I shot back: She still too young to choose. She got no choice and is lucky cause the god is good enough to give her mother the breastmilk as a healthy food for her and she has been drinking it. She should be blessed cause I still preserve to give her the best. She struggles maybe she still prefer latch on and becos her appetite is low. NOT becos she don't like to drink breastmilk. 2)Have you start given her formula milk. Faster give her, She is very skinny better give her formula to fatten her. I shot back: As long as my breastmilk supply is sufficient for her demand. I will not give her formula. And PD SAID her weight is ok and she is small size maybe because I am petite in size. My #1 (Amabel) is also petite since birth. So my #2 (Aisleyne) is most likely also follow the size of her sister and mommy. MOST ANGRY one here which i overheard 3) Saying to my baby. Wait for you 6 month eat solid then you will be more healthy. FCUK (oop sorry too angry over this remarks). She means my breastmilk is not a healthy food for her!? I never shoot back cause I am trying to cool myself down. If not I think will really have WW3. This is what I always said to others "I dont need a fat baby but a healthy baby." I do like chubby baby but healthy or not is more important right. And I proof it to them, my #1 very very seldom fall sick compare to some other baby, like their who or who, who is very fat but alway get sick. As for my #2, she once get the flu bug from her sister but she recover very fast within 3 days without any medication help. This proof that her self immunity is good. So why should I concern about her weight. And her head is stable when she is about 8 weeks old, can flips when she is about 14 weeks, her legs are strong and trying to stand everytime. To me she is strong and healthy and achieve every milestones. So why why why peoples (Especially those elderly) like to see the size of the baby rather than the merits? They just know nothing about breastfeeding. 4)Why you still don't put soya sauce and salt in Amabel food when cooking since she is already 2 years old. Like that the food will taste nicer so she will like to eat. I shot back: Why need to purposely make the food taste nicer to make her eat? The meat and veg itself got nice taste if you know how to cook it. Those food that i cooked taste very nice even without putting flavouring. Some of the food Amabel is eating like yogurt, cheese already contain some sodium so there is no need for me to add on more salt in any of her food. I am still trying to search for low sodium food (biscuit, yogurt etc) yet you still want me to add more salt to the food. 5) Why you never give Aisleyne drinks water? Same comment was given when Amabel is a baby while drinking totally breastmilk. I shot back: Aisleyne dont have to drink any water. My breastmilk already contain more than 90% of the water. She is TOTAL BREASTFEEDING, no water is needed. Argh... still alot more nasty comments I gotten but don't want to think about it. The more I think the more angry I were. Gal, don’t be uptight by such comments okay? I reckon they meant no harm or ill intentions. The older generation always has this mentality that fat and chubby babies are healthier. Hehe…
As for Aiselyne not liking mommy’s milk..i think its not true coz she hasn’t tasted any other milk per se so how could she compare? Hehe..unless u have given her FM then maybe she prefers the latter coz its sweeter but you have been total breastfeeding. Aiselyne is growing well and acquiring new skills v fast! Just look at her chubby cheeks! And who said breastfed babies are generally small?! We have seen so many super-size babies. hehe…
maybe in future, u can tell those pple that its not abt the milk..last time amabel drank more than 1 litre a day but also petite size.

yah i know they mean no harm when they give the comment but everytime they comments and the word that i shot back, dont tell me they still dont know i am quite insist about breastfeeding be it when I am breastfeeding my #1 and #2. Dont tell me my reaction over their comment is not obvious enough? Shall I make it more obvious when they pass such comment again so I can stop them from giving such comment again and again.
The sad thing is that even johnnnie agreed with the comment that Aisleyne dont like to drink breastmilk cause my PD joked that maybe Aisleyne dont like to drink breastmilk.So disappointed. I actually called up my PD again to confront about the above remarks that he gave, he said he just joking with us only (when i told him Aisleyne take an hour to drink milk and sometime struggle when drinking milk). How a baby will choose her food when she didnt even know there is some food that is of better taste right. Ok then I also emailed AFEW other PD and lactation consultation that is it true that baby will not like breastmilk though I know their answer is suchly be NOT TRUE that baby dont like breastmilk. Their replied is just like what we think 'It is not true at all especially that i not yet intro formula milk to the baby which some babies may prefer it due to the sweetness. *The baby will not choose to dislike breastmilk if they don't even have a taste of the formula milk.*
Aisleyne is so cute lor.. Seen her yest at VIVO... I love her big wide eyes.... As for putting salt and soya sauce... I too dun agreed in putting lor...

dont be upset over such remarks... i know it can be very irritating.. well just to let u know, it's not true that babies will always choose FM over BM. I give bernice both (cos i supplement with FM) and many times she rejects the FM and wants to drink BM. My PD say bernice very smart, know how to choose what is good for her. haha.
U are not the only one suffering from such ignorant comments! my inlaws keep asking me to give formula.. said duo duo shao shao yao bu chong de! i was like WTF? Breast milk is so much better than formula. then they saw the amt of frozen EBM i have in the freezer, told me i very bad, give baby milk that has been frozen for so long! hear liao damn pui huay!

Dun be sad.., U r NOT ALONE. I share same sentiment as u. I am super irritated when others pass these comments too and usually its none other than my MIL. I am worst, we stayed together!! I really pray and hope my new house comes quickly (Brought a Build to order flat, target completion on 4Q this year). She keep saying I am small size, breast oso small, sure not enuf milk. But I dun care, when I am not @ work, I will purposely lock me and baby inside the room and I latched her on directly. Then when I bring her outside to the living room, my PILs would say “ai ya, poor baby, must be very hungry hor”. I totally bo chap them. Super irritated!!~~ But dun take those ignorant comments to heart, no point getting angry with those brainless people!! Be happy k!! =)
