Amabel goes to childcare centre

3th of November, 2008 marked your first day at the childcare centre.
Before we decided to enrol you in that childcare; we visit the two centres subsidise under my company, we also visit afew childcares a distance away from our house area.
After some consideration, we decided to enrol you to the childcare under Mommy's company NUH.
Reason being no one to send you to the childcare since it is not along the way to my company. Daddy can't drive you to any of our shortlisted childcare also since it only open at 7am and Daddy got to reach his company at 7am so the timing buay gum.
Both centres are under the same owner but the two sites are totally different environment.
One is facilitated with air-con and the other site is non air-con hence very dusty and the floor got alot of sand cause the sand play area is just outside and the children after play just run in and make the floor so dirty.
Husband find it very dirty so we decided to choose the one with air-con and the teacher seem to be much better compare to the other
And both are a distance away from NUH but good is that there is a free school bus to the two centres.
Meaning every morning we got to reach NUH by 8.30am if not we will miss the school bus and I will need to take cab to send you to the childcare and hence I will be late for work too.
We went to your childcare 2nd time to do all the paper work and this time we bring you along. Our plan is to make sure and let you familiar with the new environment, new faces, and getting you to integrate into the new place.
School environment, nice scenary. I often see rainbow on the pond
Saw the teacher will bring the children for a walk
The principal advise a half day session on the first day and slowly drag the hour longer on the subsequent days.

After we had enrolled you to the childcare; Mommy has been telling you about 'school'. The 'teachers' in the school who will be 'feeding you', 'change your diaper', 'read book to you', 'educate you' etc and there will be a lot of friends playing with you.
Everytime I told you this, not much reaction from you.
And it make me so worry that you will cry.

Day 1 - 3rd Nov 08
Mommy not yet return to work and actually applied 1 more week leave. Want to be around with you during this transition phase.
I brought you to school . As usual, you are so happy, thinking that Mommy is gonna bring you out shopping or walk walk.
Haha feel cheated??
But on the way I kept telling you all about the 'school', 'teachers' and 'friends' again.
Hope you won't get frighten when you gonna be there for at least half a day.
Everything seems to be doing well, you warmed up pretty fast, start walking around the place, playing the toys, playing with friends and I accompanied you throughout the half day in the school. But since is day 1 only, principal Mrs Irene Chan said is best not to let her stay too long so around 2pm I brought you home

But you seem to be very enjoy playing the toys there and also the friends
You took the army hat on the table and wore it.

Day 2 - 4th Nov 08
The usual routine, all children got to check on their body temperature, check the hands, foot and mouth for HFMD.
Mommy were told to slip out of your vision quietly once you are involve in the activities. Think is Mommy weren't prepare, I thought I still can accompany you throughout the day for today?!.
Your teacher, Siti holding onto your hand, leading you to place your shoes on the shoes rack and then to the washing area to have your hands washed. I still quite worry cause is just 2nd day and the teacher want me to disappear so suddenly. I am so worry and I stand there for awhile more until I see you walk with your teacher into the Assembly room and sit on your teacher's lap quietly. And then I know is time for me to make disappear. Since you like doesn't feel my existing already.

Mommy never went home when I were being chase out (haha) of the centre.
I went into the centre again after about an hour, but I make sure you didn't saw me.
The teacher gave me a ok and good sign, telling me that everything is fine and you didn't cry.
I waited outside till 3pm+ before pick you to go home but I do go in to check with teacher that you are fine.
Glad that Amabel is independent. She eat on her own and take a nap like what the rest of the children do
and doesn't cry at all, if not it will be heartpain to see her cry being abandoned.

Day 3 - 5th Nov 08
During the morning assembly, the teachers introduce you to all your friends in playgroup, nursery, K1 and K2.
After that I left and wait outside till 4pm+

Teacher said today you do cry for awhile asking for Mommy. But once she distracted you with toys, you are fine already.
Teacher said you are very playful, always want friends and teachers play with you, if not you will angry.
Haha! Mischevious girl

Day 4 - 6th Nov 08
Today you took the school bus from NUH to your childcare centre. Mommy accompanied sit the school bus.
You are well behave, never climb up and down like what you usually do in your Daddy's car.
We fasten the seat belt for you, the principal do a temperature check and check your hands, foot and mouth.
Alighted the bus and you actually follow your friends to the centre without having Mommy holding you.

You then bring your shoes and put it on the shoe rack yourself
I am so proud of you, you are so independent and brave.
Had your hand washed and Teacher, Siti, bring you to the Assembly area and you all had your morning execrise

11th Nov 08
This is what I usually do.
I will be walking outside the centre looking for place to look into the centre where the playgroup children are.
For the first 2 weeks, I everyday peek over the fence, to the glass door see Amabel. Can only saw abit cause the stupid paper pasted on the door block the view.

Then finally I found some hole and peek into the centre and see what you are doing and how the teacher treat the children.
Hehe!
Through the glass I saw...

her playing with toys
Knowing that you adapt pretty well so Mommy start to go home and spend some time with your meimei and only came to fetch you home at about 5 to 6pm.

Took the bus back home. In the bus->
17th Nov 08, In the bus stop
2 more days I will be starting work and I won't be accompanying you take school bus anymore.

So today in the school after I sat with you for awhile, I changed to sit behind you without you aware of it.

I thought you are ok when you didn't see me sit beside you anymore cause I didn't see you turn your head around searching for me nor hear you cry for me.

But I am wrong. Silent doesn't mean you are ok.
I were shocked when the principal turned to you and asked you what happened. Cause I am sitting right behind you so I doesn't aware that you are actually weeping cause you didn't dare to cry out LOUD I am getting worry cause another 2 days mommy wont be able to take the school bus with you anymore.

19th Nov 08
My first day of work and also the day you take the school bus without Mommy accompany.

I brought you to my office to put Mommy breatpump barang barang first.

I took a display santa claus that I had in my office and brought you to the school bus. Mrs Irene Chan carried you to the seat and fastened your seatbelt while Mommy signing in on the school attendence list.

Then I passed you the santa claus, telling you that "Mommy need to go work and you have to take the school bus by yourself without Mommy. And Mrs Chan will be around for you and Mommy will pick you up in the evening time after work."

You look abit moody as usual think is due to not sufficient sleep as you are being waken up by Mommy early in the morning.

I not sure whether you cry after me or the bus went off. I called Mrs Chan to check with her on whether you are ok in the school bus. She said that initially you look a bit sad like wanna weep soon but after Mrs Chan reassurance telling you that Mommy got to go work and will come pick you up after work and after abit of consoling, you didn't get into weeping.

Ever since then, you are ok with it already

You have been for school for a month. Everyday you will wave your hand and said "Byebye" to Mommy.

And I will stay here looking into the bus and you will look at me keep waving your hand till the bus drive off.

I am just so proud of you

Just yesterday, you are invloving in a concert performance. Took too much time on this post, will blog about it in the next post soon.
