Now her daily routine are; 8am - Milk feed, 180ml 10am - Breakfast, cereal with 120ml milk / bread meal with 120ml milk - Follow by fruit or yogurt 12.30pm - Lunch, porridge (brown rice with Japanese rice) / rice with side dishes and (or) soup / mee sua / noodle / kway Tiao soup / pasta / fried rice / macaroni soup etc 3.30pm - Mid Afternoon milk feed, 240ml milk 6pm - Dinner, porridge (brown rice with Japanese rice) with side dishes/ rice with side dishes and (or) soup / mee sua / noodle / kway Tiao soup / pasta / fried rice / macaroni soup etc 9pm - Night Feed, 240ml 10pm - Get her to sleep (sometime get haywire and she will sleep as late as 12am) In between she will nap once or twice in the day for about 1 to 2 hours. Other than that she will be reading story book, playing with her toy and watching educational baby video. When I am back from work, I will try to bring her down to playground if it is not too late. I have been keeping a record of all her milk intake and the food introduced every day since birth. Yah till now I still get my maid to record it everyday for me so I know how much she has been eating. I give my maid the food menu for Amabel to eat everyday. And everyday I got to crack my head to think of menus for her depend on what fresh vegetable and meat are in the fridge and freezer. Fish and meat, usually i will keep in freezer for the most 1 week and i will discard. As for vegetable, the most 2 weeks depend on what vegetable is that. I am still learning the proper way of storing and the lifespan of the food to be stored; this is to ensure the freshest. I not good in cooking food before I delivered Amabel, I only know how to cook maggie mee and fried egg. I didn't even know how to cook porridge or rice. I got to learnt it only after she is about to start eating solid. I attended class conducted by exprience mommies in the forum who can cook baby food well. Have to really thanks Brenda!! She told me what food can be introduce at different stages for baby. She never fail to answer all my stupid question son cooking. Till now she is still helping me if I got queries. I do read up books on baby food and try cooking it to try. For a working mom is really difficult, I only got time to do it after work or during weekend. And I got to teach my maid on cooking baby food for Amabel during weekday when I work. I alway let Amabel eat homecook food, till now I still very seldom let her eat outside food unless it really no choice. Only recently, I just started add afew drop of soya sauce in the cooking but the most once a week or none at all. Till now still no msg in her food and no added sugar too. I do serve 'Fried Egg Omelette/Scramble egg with rice', 'Fried Rice', 'Mee Sua Soup', 'Pasta', 'Noodle soup' and 'Kuay Tiao soup', 'Macaroni soup' etc. Is really alot to list down here. For Lunch and Dinner... Too many recipes to be listed down so will just write what I cooked for Amabel yesterday night. She loves it and finished the whole bowl below. Semolina Surprise Semolina is broken wheat. It is used to prepare well known Western staples such as pasta and couscous. Ingredient: Butter1/2 tsp Finely grated carrot - 1 tbsp Finely minced French beans - 1 tbsp Water - 3 Tbsp Semolina - 4 tbsp Homemade vegetable/chicken/pork stock - about 300ml How to cook: 1. Heat a small pan over low heat. Melt the butter and do not allow it to burn. 2. Add the grated carrot, minced French beans and water. Cook for 10 minutes or until the vegetables are soft. 3. Add the semolina and stir to mix well. Cook for about 1 minute. 4. Add the stock and stir quickly to combine so that the semolina is well-hydrated and has a smooth texture. When the semoline is ready, allow it to cool slighly before serving. * I vary the vegetables to create new versions of this dish. Try potato, finely chopped spinach, cauliflower or finely chopped, ripe and deseeded tomatoes etc. Couscous with Chicken and Vegetables Ingredients: Butter - 2 tsp Minced chicken - 1 freezer cube Finely grated carrot - 1 tbsp Dinely diced cauliflower - 1 tbsp Finely diced French/long beans - 1 tbsp Couscous - 6 tbsp Homemade stock - 150ml Grated cheese - 2 tbsp How to cook: 1. Melt butter in small pan over low heat. 2. Add minced chicken, carrot, cauliflowe and French beans/long beans. Cook for 10 minutes or until chicken is cooken through and vegetable are tender. 3. Add couscous, stir and cook for another 1 minute. 4. Add stock and stir well so that the couscous absorbs the water and achieves a smooth consistency. 5. Garnish with cheese and serve warm. * Can use flaked fish instead also. For breakfast... I do still give Amabel eating cereal every month with milk and fruit/yogurt. Sometime I will give her toasted bread spread with cheese and a bottle of milk as a breakfast. Breakfast: French Toast Eggs are one of the top 8 of all allergens. Egg Yolks are typically fine for baby to eat around 9 months old. The egg whites should not be fed to baby before 1 year old. I very scare so I only introduced eggs (yolk and white) to Amabel only when she turn 13 months. Eggs are a great source of protein. The quality of protein in egg is considered to be of high bilogical value -- it is absorbed and utilised effectively. Whole eggs are also a good source of several B vitamins, a fair amount of Vitamin A and some iron. Unlike egg yolks, egg white are low in calories and free of cholesterol. If your child is allergic to eggs, avoid them. Ingredients: Butter - 2 tsp Egg - 1 whole egg Whole milk - about 125ml Soft wholemeal bread or white bread - 2 slides How to cook: 1. Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat. Do not allow the butter to burn. Pour the melted butter into a large bowl and allow it to cool slighly. 2. Crack the egg into another bowl and beat lightly 3. Allow the milk and beaten egg to the melted butter. 4. Remove the crusts from the slices of bread and cut the bread into small pieces. Alternatively, cut the bread into fun shapes using cookies cutters. 5. Dip the bread pieces, one at a time, into the egg and milk mixture until well coated. 6. Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add bread pieces and cook until both side are golden bown. 7. Check that the French toast is cool enough before serving as the centre can still be very hot. * This can be served as it is, or with a small amount of fruit puree or yogurt. When come to my kids... I never be lazy!! Shall stop here cause now need to go GWC buy some vegetable for Amabel. Labels: Baby Food Journal, Meal Time, My Food |
