Lentils are also known as seeds of plants from legume family. There are a variety and their colour ranges from cream to yellow, orange and brown. Green gram or green beans are popular lentils and they are an excellent source of protien and dietary fibre. They are also high in many minerals including calcium, magnesium and potassium. Lentils are thus an excellent food for babies who are introduced to a vegetarian diet. Lentild can be found in supermarkets.


Ingredient:
White rice
Lentils
Homemade vegeatble stock


How to prepare:

1. Wash and drain the rice and lentils. Dry already, use a blender or food processor to grind the rice and lentile until they become a fine powder.

2. Bring the vegetable stock to the boil in a pot. Add the rice and lentil powder and cook for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. The porridge is ready when it is thick and smooth.

3. Allow the porridge to cool until it is just warm before serving.


** Grind extra rice and lentil powder and store it in a clean, dry container in the refrigerator. Can store up to 2 weeks.
