title: Proud of my girl
date: Saturday, September 22, 2012 time : 2:27 PM Boarded the bus 335 after her weekly enrichment class in 'I Can Read'. Bus seats were mostly occupied, so Amabel and I sat at different rows of the seats. A few stops after, Amabel came to me... I asked: "Why you come over?" She replied "I gave up my seat for the aunty!". Aww.... I love my girl!! Immediately i hugged her for doing the great job again (not the first time though, which I told her the need to). She smiled sweetly, knowing that what she just did, was greatly appreciated. My effort wasn't wasted on emphasizing and inculcate social etiquette, courtesy and mannerism on my girls, especially how they should treat the elderly and needy and no criticizing of peoples who looks different. Mannerism should be inculcated by the family as ones’ manners is greatly intertwined with his/her upbringing. It is a very sad to see how the youngsters and young adult lack of this etiquette nowadays. An incidents which I experienced week ago, early in the morning in a very packed bus with my girls. These young adults pretending to be a sleep or by just not being bothered; playing with phone. Pity my 2 young girls who standing right infront of them and almost fall off a few times when the bus jerks and these peoples are damn heartless, acting blind! I were well-controlled that day, the usual me would have asked them get up the seat for the needy. But nope, that day I didn't after I trying to look out for the 'reserved seat' signage, so at least i can use that to ask for a seat, which apparently were really being removed in most buses. Why did they removed it?! Ok you guys are saved! My girls are strong that don't really need your seats anyway and make myself like a mad women. But I'm definitely gonna stand up for the elderly and needy even without the "reserved seat" signage. They deserved a seat be it a "reserved seat" or not! 2 Comments:
