title: Chocolate Chunk Cookies

I have a printout of this recipe from somewhere so though of giving it a try. I'm Chocolate Cookies lover so wanna make out of my hands! hee~

This was supposed to be called Chocolate Chunk Cookies but I didn't use block kind of chocolate instead I use Chocolate nugget for this so shall I call this 'Chocolate Nugget Cookies'?

Aiya who care, these Chocolate Chunk Cookies have crisp edges and centers that are soft and chewy. Not too sweet, just right for the kids.

You can use any combination of bitter, semi sweet or white chocolate or even those delicious toffee bits.

Chocolate Chunk Cookies:

2 cups (260 grams) all purpose flour (I used Plain Flour here)
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup (170 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature
2/3 cup (130 grams) granulated white sugar (I used Fine Sugar here)
2/3 cup (140 grams) firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (I used Vanilla Essence here)
1 1/4 cups (210 grams) chocolate chunk (can use chocolate chips) - (I used chocolate nugget instead)

All ready to start

Chocolate Chunk Cookies:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). Line the baking sheets with parchment paper.

2) In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3) In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy (about 2 - 3 minutes). Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the egg and egg yolk, beating until well combined. Beat in the vanilla extract.

4) Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and beat just until incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Stir in the chocolate chunks.

5) Form dough into balls, using 1/4 cup (55 grams) for each cookie. Place six balls of dough on each baking sheet. Gently flatten each ball of dough into a 2 1/2 inch (6.5 cm) round.

--- I don't know these small dough ball can bake till become so giant so I packed the baking sheet with few more of the dough balls. So ended up the first try with the dough ball baked and expand then spread covering the whole baking sheet *Faint*

So for the 2nd baking sheet thinking that I don't need to bake such a giant cookies for my girl so I reduced the size to almost half and also since this cookies size doesn't able to fit into my table top oven the baking sheet unless I reduce the number of cookies to bake each time.  Still the cookies look big to me so I reduced the size again for my third try to this and I can also bake more cookies at a time!

6) Bake the cookies for about 15 - 17 minutes, rotating the baking sheets halfway through the baking time.

My girls can't wait to eat my cookies

The cookies are done when they are light golden brown in color and just set. They will still seem a little soft but they will firm up as they cool. Remove from oven and let the cookies cool a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool.

My giant cookies (for the 2nd try) vs the regular size one

The girls kept asking for more after the first piece. Bought a box of these cookies for my colleague to try. They commented even better than the subway one and they just couldn't stop after one piece. Within minutes it all gone!!

I just bough few for my bff Sz to try too. Hope she likes it too... :D
