title: Another year to their birthday again!

I haven't been free to upload all the pics taken during the girls's mini birthday celebration in August. Well, looking at the pics again taken 2 months ago to what they are now, my girls really grow and change every minutes. Especially when I leaving for Taipei for a week which I feel that I misses so much of their growing progress. I wouldn't wanna leave them alone for even a day anymore.

My little one is becoming more independent every day (well, almost). Now able to get themselves slices of bread when hungry, a glass of water when thirsty, take and hang their towel after shower and get dressed without any help, and having their own sense of fashion. lol~

Teaching toddlers to be independent is all part of the growing-up process and one of the greatest parenting challenges of all. From potty training, managing their tantrum, being fussy eater to bedtime battles, It takes patience to help them grow from a dependent baby into an independent child. I'm the one who training them to be that independent and I'm proud to see the achievement though it have been a tough battle for me. Especially when I facing so much hard time discipline and caring for them yet the daddy feeling that I'm not doing enough and he is the great one who spent more time on them than me, just because the girls cling to him more than to me, just because he often seeing me looking at my iphone = I'm not concentrating on my girls. Well he is not doing that too, and he can say until as if he is to others!! I'm not going to debate for myself those times, cause as long as I feel that I'm doing the best why should I care and evoke a war again right.  I don't think it is a great parenting just because a parent 24 hours looking at the kids, never dare to leave a minutes from the child, over pampering, to indulge them in unacceptable behavior....shouldn't they be independent at such a age already. With each new task learned and mastered-or at least improved upon-confidence grows.

"Toddlers get a lot out of being given the opportunity to do things independently" Doing something all by themselves and the success (no matter how many times it was preceded by failure) in doing something they wanted to do will boost their self-confidence, making them more willing to take on new challenges tomorrow.

Aisleyne have been very particular with her dressing recently where my helper will stop her from wearing it... I used to trying way to get her to remove the clothes she chosen cause of the colour combination but think about it as long as the child dresses herself, then I have no business to comment on what she is wearing, as long as it is appropriate.

There is really nothing wrong with parents doing things for their child even when they could do it themselves. But a parent who insists on doing it all may unwittingly deny a child the opportunity to learn. I'm glads that they are more independent than more kids out there, at least when one day unexpected thing happened that I need to leave them. I can leave with no much worries.

Had a mini family celebration at in law's place for the 2 birthday girls

A birthday celebration is a really last minutes plan but still I managed to get all things ready in time.
Reached the school before the girls wake up, is a surprise for them. Hence lil Aisleyne was quite shocked and she wasn't well prepared so was very grouchy and in the end burst out crying. Haha see the pics lah...
